Weekly Meetings
We will meet weekly on Wednesday Evenings 5:00 PM – 6:15 PM. Our meetings will always start in Kid's Church. Meeting dates will run with the Wednesday night church schedule. Our first meeting will be Wednesday, September 20, 2023. This first meeting is for students and Parents. Our last meeting will be May 22, 2024. We will communicate D Team information by emails and text messages through WhatsApp. Parents should download the App and create an account. Pastor Tina will add you to the group.

SAVE THE DATE: We have a special training on Saturday, September 30 from 9-3:30 that is MANDATORY for the D Team members. Please note this on your calendar with more details to follow.

What to Bring to the meeting:
D- Team members should bring the following to church each week for the D- Team meeting and Wednesday night church:

Church Service is from 6:30 – 8:00 PM Wednesday evenings and the team will serve using the skills they learn during our meeting times. Team members can also serve on a monthly rotation during our Sundays services.

Cost
We are asking each D-team member to pay a $30 fee for the year. This will be used to cover your devotional, journal, T-shirt, soda shop drinks and food for parties throughout the year. We would like all 4-6th graders to participate in D-team, so if this is a financial hardship, please talk to Pastor Tina.

We need this information for Planning Center.

Food Allergies

We offer snacks and will occasionally have food at our meetings. Please list any food allergies we should be aware of.

Attendance

Attendance is very important to grow together as a team and to learn commitment. It is also important as we are practicing different skits and practice for performances that each person is there for their part. Please be on time for our meetings and communicate with us if you will not be attending.
If a student is absent for 3 meetings without connecting with Pastor Tina or Pastor Gayle, a meeting will be set up with the D-team member and the parents to discuss their commitment to the team.

Daily Devotions

We believe that this is one of the most important things we do as a part of the Discipleship Team. Getting to know God in our time alone with Him is what helps us grow as Christians.
D- team members should read their Bible, pray, and worship daily. This year we will use a NIV version of the Bible along with their Devotional Journal. We will pick key stories from each book of the Bible for us to read.
It is a requirement that D-team members complete their devotion daily, along with the journaling requirements. Kids should set a time (10-15 minutes) and a place where they will do devotions daily.
Parents should encourage a consistent devotional life and review their journal to ensure it is done before coming to church. The first one is provided. If lost, they will need to purchase a new one at the cost $15 for the Bible and $5 for the Journal.
Students who complete their devotions every day of the week will receive a drink from the soda shop.
Students who do not have their devotions completed will work on them during our meeting time. Students also will not be able to be on stage for Puppets or Worship team if devotions are not finished.

Worship

Worship is your way of telling God you love Him. As a leader the other kids watch what you do. You must show them how to act. During times of worship, you need to turn all of your attention to Jesus. You can do this by closing your eyes, lifting your hands, and singing His praise. It helps the others feel comfortable doing the same thing when you are already doing it. It sets an example for them to follow. You are not showing off how you can worship, but you are showing them it is okay and good to do it.

Worshipping on the stage is considered a privilege. You are a LEAD WORSHIPPER. D-team members must FIRST show us that you are a lead worshipper on the floor, with your peers before you will be asked to be on the stage. If you are on the worship team for the week, you will practice actions and songs together, but only those who have shown leadership on the floor will be asked to worship on the stage.

Students who are a distraction to others during worship, will have a meeting with Pastor Tina and Pastor Gayle about your commitment to being a student leader and your commitment to the team.

Puppet Ministry

Puppet ministry is one of the things D-team members love to learn and do. If you are on the puppet team you will be practicing puppet songs, skits and puppetry skills.
Puppet Performances will only be done by D-team members who are respectful and hardworking during practice time, as well as during large group service times and small group times on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Performers must be a positive leadership example to kids and adults.

Set an example

We expect our D-team members to be the leaders in Kid's Church. We want to see you have a positive attitude about the things that we do in Kid's ministry, even if it is not your favorite activity.
We expect you to be respectful to ALL adult leaders, including your parents.
We expect you to help care for our classrooms and the church by keeping it clean and even cleaning up messes you did not make.
We expect you to welcome visitors and show kindness to everyone.

Media Team

A new option this year will be for students to join our media team. This team is still developing, but we envision this group making videos to show during Kid's Church or Junior Kid's Church on Sundays and Wednesdays, and possibly at Snow Daze. Some things they might do could be; making God's Rules videos, Bible verse action videos, a video acting out a Bible Story and possibly some Memes.
All videos will stay in house. We will not be posting anything on Social Media. We may send videos to parents of kids in D-team so you can see what we have been working on.

What interests you Most?

This year we will work in our teams for a longer period of time, rather than rotating every 2-3 weeks.
Students will have an opportunity to serve in every area this year if they want to, but if an area doesn't interest them, they do not have to serve in that area.
Our year will be divided into 3 periods.
Period 1 - September-November
Period 2 - January-beginning of March.
Period 3 - Mid March-May

Please select which area you would like to serve in for each period. We will do our best to honor your choices, but if one period is really full, we may move you to another period.

Additional Information

Is there anything else we should know about you?
Do you foresee any difficulty completing devotions, or any of the expectations above?

D-team Dinner

Parents, would you consider making a meal for our D-team on Wednesday night? You would prepare a meal for about 25 people and bring it to room 121 at 5:50pm.
If you are not able to make a meal, it is always helpful to have someone help clean up.
